The International Tokaj Art Summer master classes
grew out of the wish to create a setting for the comprehensive development of musicians, both professionals and amateurs. In the modern world art and
its interpretation must be approached broadly
in an aesthetic, cultural, political and economic context.
New starting points to understand art need to be found.
The main activities are individual lessons, lectures and seminars given by renowned artists. These are open to all participants. There are also concerts, free improvisations, panel discussions and informal chats about musical issues.
The master classes take place in one of the most beautiful, but less known, Southeast Slovak regions - in the inspiring environment of the community Velky Kamenec /Slovak Republic/. The intimate atmosphere of the small village provides a stimulating location for jointly seeking answers to important questions concerning art and
its relationship to modern life.
